Please be aware that taking a bus along Higashiyama-dori, especially south of Shijo-dori during the daytime, is not recommended due to frequent overcrowding. Bus number 206 passes through this area if you’re traveling from JR Kyoto Station to the university.
Additionally, certain routes like 201, 203, and 206 are circular, so be cautious not to board in the wrong direction. A mistake could significantly increase your travel time.
Train:
If your accommodation is along the Keihan Railway, using the train would be another option. The closest station to the university is Demachiyanagi (出町柳). From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the university.
- Demachiyanagi Station (出町柳駅) – Keihan Railway (京阪電車)
You can also take the subway to Imadegawa (今出川) or Higashiyama (東山) stations. However, you will need to transfer to a bus to reach the university.

Hotel Accommodation
We secured some hotel rooms, which can be reserved by the registration site. There are plenty of hotels in Kyoto, but plenty of visitors to Kyoto. We strongly recommend you reserve a hotel as early as possible. Unfortunately, there is no hotel within walking distance of the venue. If you stay in a hotel between Kyoto station and the venue, you can generally reach the venue within 30 minutes. However, taking a bus that goes on Higashiyama-dori, particularly below Shijo-dori in the daytime, is not recommended because it is often overcrowded.
